 Renwick Lee Zacherl, 31, of Knox RD 2, a Vietnam War hero, died at 3:40 p.m. Friday in Clarion Hospital. 
 Born September 10, 1948, in Clarion, he was a son of Andrew and Louise Lauer Zacherl.
 

While in Vietnam, Mr. Zacherl was awarded the Air Medal with a "V" Device on March 12, 1970.  He was awarded the medal by direction of the President of the United States, under the provision of Executive Order 9242-A, for heroism while participating in aerial flight in the Republic of Vietnam.


 He married the former Sue Clover December 18, 1979.  She survives.  Also surviving are a daughter, Christina Zacherl of Clarion;   a step-daughter, Pam Kiester of Knox RD 2;   his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Zacherl of Shippenville RD;   two sisters, Mrs. Gloria Kij of Orchard Park, N.Y. and Mrs. Wally (Eloise) Bauer of Lucinda;   and a brother, Andrew E. Zacherl of Eagle Point, Oregon.

Mr. Zacherl was employed by Dupont Homes in Strattanville.


Interment will be at Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion.
